“A night is Clingendael” is situated in an overwhelming naturalistic environment, quite different from Dominic’s paintings of streets or ‘the urban jungle’. There is a little boy, sitting on a large rock in not more than small shorts. The deep dark blue colors indicate it is night, although the space between the trees revealing the last strings of sunlight. The little boy seems to be in another world, far from the western cities we all know so well. There is his loneliness, but at the same time his unification with nature around him.
